There is no Switch cartridge and no eShop build from EA. The project people mean is antoxa2584x/nfsu2-sw, a static recompile aimed at Switch and Linux.
What the repository is
It targets the Xbox version's code and expects extracted data from a legally obtained North American Xbox copy. The author release API reports v0.5.13, published 18 October 2026, with Switch installation paths and a warning not to overwrite an existing save folder. That developer release is not a Nintendo eShop build or an EA port. Check the release page again before following a video that shows an older build.
What to do if you only wanted to play
A hacked console and a homebrew recompile are a project. A weekend session is the browser port or a Deck or PC install. None of those are a remaster. The status of an EA rerelease is unchanged.
