Two community websites advertised browser play when their public pages were checked on 23 October 2026. This review did not launch the games or verify performance. Neither is operated by Electronic Arts, and this guide does not embed them.
nfsu2.xyz, the PC rebuild
nfsu2.xyz (Underground 2 Revived) describes a PC recompile using WebAssembly and WebGPU. Its homepage advertises up to 120 fps and online play, not a measured result for your device. No stable download-size figure was exposed in the checked page. Its robots.txt asks crawlers not to fetch /data/ and /game.wasm; that is a crawl instruction, not access control or a license.
nfsunderground2.site, the PS2 port
nfsunderground2.site describes an experimental PS2 web port with two-player online rooms. Each player's browser runs the game and synchronizes inputs frame by frame; this is not the old EA online service. It offers a browser-stored virtual memory card, including PCSX2-format .ps2 import/export, and carries ads. Its saves are not interchangeable with the PC port's saves.
Controls, saves, and multiplayer
Browser saves live in the site's own storage. They are not the PC file at %LOCALAPPDATA%\NFS Underground 2\. Multiplayer inside a port is not the 2004 EA server. For LAN on a real PC copy, see what still works online. The technical write-up of the recompiler is on the recompiled page.
If a port asks you to disable security tools or to run an unknown exe, stop. A browser build should stay in the browser.
Android and mobile browsers
The nfsu2.xyz homepage advertises phone touch controls, but controls alone do not establish compatibility with your phone's WebGPU implementation, memory, or thermal limits. This guide has not benchmarked Android devices. If the browser build cannot start, compare the separate Android emulation options rather than downloading an APK advertised as the original PC game.
Questions people ask
Does EA host a browser version?
No official EA browser edition was identified. The two sites described here are independent projects, not publisher-operated services.
Is the browser port the full game?
It streams game assets from its own host. The current homepage does not publish a stable download-size figure, so check the port before using mobile data.
Should I use the browser port or install on Windows?
The browser port does not use the retail Windows launch path. A local copy gives you control over patches and mods, but retail DRM compatibility remains a separate problem on modern systems. Neither route is guaranteed by this guide.
