If the phrase codes are enough, stop here and use the cheat table. A trainer is for when you want to poke memory values, usually cash, in a single-player session.
What the tools are
Cheat Engine is a maintained memory scanner. You attach it to SPEED2.EXE, find a value, and change it. A "NFSU2 trainer" exe is someone else's packaged version of that idea. This page does not link those exes. NFSU2SaveEditorV2 on GitHub edits the save file itself, with an automatic backup feature described by the project. That is a file editor, not a live trainer, and it still starts with the backup on the save page.
Rules I follow
- Single-player only. Not LAN, not a browser-port lobby.
- Do not turn antivirus off to run an unnamed exe.
- Change one value, save, and see if the career still loads.
Continue with Do not use online.
Questions people ask
Is there an official trainer?
No. Cheat Engine is a general memory editor from cheatengine.org. Game-specific tables and exe trainers are third-party files.
Will a trainer get me banned on the old servers?
Those servers closed in 2006. Do not use a trainer on LAN or on any community session. It is a single-player tool.
My antivirus deleted it. Is that the fix?
Treat the detection as a reason to stop, not as a puzzle to disable Defender. Prefer the phrase codes, which ship inside the game.
